Forging Identity Through Creativity: In Conversation with Macy Pearl

It was so fun to sit down with musician and singer/songwriter Macy Pearl to discuss her music, creative process, and connection to spirituality! One of the most personally insightful parts of our conversation was the way Macy connected her musical journey to her life’s journey. Both beginning with vulnerability, a deeply important part of personal growth but also artistic expression, Macy’s music and confidence are continuing down a powerful path of expansion and development.

Macy’s music being a public representation of her private journey further reflects how her story is a microcosm of a universal creative process. Macy’s story is an example of the broader impact that creativity and artistry can have within each of us as human beings, but further within our world as a whole. I believe artists have a duty, but also a drive, to use their talents to both grow as individuals and help grow the world around them and Macy is a beautiful example of someone who has done exactly that. Not only is Macy an extremely talented musician, writer, and singer, but she has harnessed these talents to become, and continue to grow into, the best version of herself. Even further, her music and art is created with the hope of bringing light and inspiration to those that might listen.

I do believe that within all of us is an artist, and a call to share our story with whatever talents and capabilities we are pulled to use. Whether or not you have discovered your capability, or have found the right words for your story, it is a worthwhile effort to consider the ways you can empower yourself and your story. This consideration can both help you, and the broader world, in a multitude of ways and I hope you can embrace your inner artist both for yourself and for all of us.
