Serendipitously Reflecting: In Conversation with JJ DiGeronimo

How wonderful that JJ DiGeronimo was the last guest of Season 1 of Making Meaning! In a time of reflection, endings, and beginnings, JJ’s work feels especially prominent. The path that The Cohere Collective and Making Meaning has been on has certainly been a personal one for me, and one that called on me to listen to my “whispers,” as JJ deems the messages we all receive. In this moment of transition, I feel full of gratitude for having the privilege and opportunity to listen to, and act on, my whispers.

JJ describes whispers as the messages that we receive from the universe, our subconscious, or our higher power. Each of us could hear whispers from all of these sources, or some of you may have a different belief system around the origin of “whispers.” Whatever that looks like for you, I believe whispers are a universal experience. Whether or not we trust them, or attribute higher meaning to them, everyone has had a moment of realization or ideation that feels important. For many of us, for a multitude of reasons, we stifle, repress, or reconsider these realizations. But JJ’s work is a powerful testament of why listening to the whispers can help guide us towards purpose, fulfillment, and peace.

JJ’s work aligning with the personal and public journey of Cohere has further called me to reflect on the whispers I am currently receiving. If you know anything about The Cohere Collective’s story, you know that this vision has been on my heart for almost my whole life. While The Cohere Collective is the most recent, and highest, version of this vision, the goal has manifested in many different ways throughout my life. The drive to create a community of meaning making for meaning makers has been motivated by a variety of whispers that have come to me intermittently. Listening to the whispers has slightly shifted, merged and morphed, or radically changed the trajectory of my journey at different points along the way.

So all of that to say, I feel like this episode was serendipitously put together at this specific moment for Cohere. It provided a wonderful moment of reflection for me personally, and for the work that The Cohere Collective strives to provide. While JJ’s work is primarily focused on furthering your personal journey, it is absolutely applicable to groups and can be applied to almost anything. So if you are looking for something to help harness you or your work’s potential, I highly recommend checking out JJ’s work!
